Jose Mijares Description

Born in Havana, Cuba in 1921. Began his studies at the School of Art of San Alejandro in Havana in 1936. His professors included Romañach, Valderrama, Menocal, Ramon Loy, Caravia among others. Mijares credits Fidelio Ponce as the most influencial professor that helped him developed his own style of expression.
